CYCDO (Community Youth & Citizen Development Organisation Inc.) is a Sydney-based not-for-profit organization, established and run by a group of Australian-Bangladeshi professionals. Our organization is dedicated to empowering young people and citizens by creating meaningful, purpose-driven activities that enrich their lives. Through skill-building, character development, and leadership training, we nurture individuals to reach Their full potential and become positive forces in their communities. Our mission is to actively prevent and reduce crime involving youth and citizens by promoting strong values, personal growth, and social responsibility. CYCDO’s core initiatives—counselling, seminars, conflict mediation, and traffic education—are designed to inspire, educate and uplift. We are passionately committed to promoting the well-being and holistic development of every young person and citizen we serve. Through engaging, high-quality programs delivered in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment, we help them live life to the fullest—with confidence, courage, and a sense of purpose.

Our President

Md. Abdullah Yousuf
A remarkable leader for the Bangladeshi community in Australia. As the current president of the Community Youth and Citizen Development Organisation (CYCDO), he brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. A proud alumnus of Dhaka University, he earned his Bachelor's degree in 1988 and furthered his education with a diploma in Japan in 1990. Fluent in five languages—Bengali, English, Japanese, Urdu, and Hindi—Abdullah’s communication skills have enabled him to connect with diverse communities. He was a councilor of the largest human rights organization in Japan called Asian Peoples Friendship Society. He came to Australia in 1991 and worked with various community groups and led the community.

He became the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party of Australia Inc. in 1995. Founder member of Zia Parishad Japan.
Current Roles: In his editorial role as Editor-in-Chief of Australia’s only Bangladeshi community newspaper, Abdullah has championed issues important to the community. He also serves as director of SStv Australia. Md Abdullah has held significant positions in organizations, like the Sydney Press & Media Council and Bangladeshi Senior Citizen of Australia Inc. Founder executive member of Bangladeshi Senior Citizen of Australia Inc. President of Community Youth and Citizen Development Inc. Chief Advisor of Bangladeshi Refugees of Australia Inc. Former Justice of the Peace, New South Wales, since 7 June 2006-June 2021. Former director, Sydney 2 FM Community radio & 87.6 MHz May 2007 Sydney (Bengali Program).
