Sydney, 12 November, the Community Youth & Citizen Development Organization Inc (CYCDO) organised a peaceful gathering at Milton Park, Macquarie Fields, NSW.
During the event, community representatives hailing from diverse multicultural Muslim communities convened to articulate their collective voice in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian population. These representatives, cognizant of the gravity of the situation, vehemently condemned the ongoing brutal attacks perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces. In a united front, they urgently called for an immediate ceasefire to quell the escalating violence and safeguard the lives of innocent civilians in the region.
Furthermore, community leaders underscored the importance of addressing the underlying issues contributing to the conflict. They specifically appealed to the Australian government, urging a reconsideration of its support for Israel. The call to action emphasized the need for diplomatic intervention and a cessation of any support that may inadvertently perpetuate the continuation of hostilities. This plea reflects a broader commitment to advocating for a just and equitable resolution to the longstanding and complex issues in the region.

Among others, Deputy Mayor of Campbelltown City Council Masud Khalil, Minto Masjid Imam Sheikh Mohammad Rial, Macquarie Fields Masjid Imam Sheikh Hamidullah, President of Australian Muslim Welfare Centre Dr Anisul Afsar, Aboriginal Elder Uncle David, Afgan Community Representative Mina Skandari, Sydney University Muslim Students Association Rep.
